Cutting out the 'type 3' carbohydrates..

Hi Dunks

White bread was also my downfall and the hardest adjustment to make. I started buying Soy-Lin and wholemeal bread instead, it wasn't easy to get used to it but I didn't have any white bread in the house so it was better than nothing. I found that if I toasted it then I could handle it better, I did this until I'd gone through a couple of loaves (I freeze it and take slices out the freezer as needed). After awhile I found that I started to enjoy it. My son complained about the fact that there was no white bread, I bought a loaf just for him. When making him a sandwich I decided to treat myself and have one with him, with white bread, I thought it would be such a treat, it turns out that I didn't eat it at all, after one bite I found it to be so bland and unsatisfying. I never thought that I would prefer 'health' bread, but there it is. Soy-Lin and wholemeal bread really is so much more satisfying and tasty. Please try this for a month and see how you go. I'm sure you will be as pleasantly suprised as I was.
Good Luck..
Gina

Wow, it Clear

I have always loved bread (especially fresh white bread), but it has always hated me. I only have to look at bread and I put on 2 kg.

Now I know that I have to limit my intake completely. I will try to avoid it, but if I am having a sandwhich I will make it wholemeal instead.
Thanks

For me, it's important that I enjoy the foods I like. Some foods can take a while to get used to, but then my taste buds change and I enjoy eating them. However, foods that I REALLY don't like, I don't eat.

Salads are a great way to eat healthy natural carbs raw. If I feel like a treat I'll have a piece of rye toast with spreadable fruit (from a jar or mash banana, or slices of apple with some cashew spread). The only way I can stick to an eating plan is to eat healthy foods that I enjoy -it's all about rewarding myself in a positive, healthy way.
