The US issue of Vogue features the lovely Keira Knightley on the cover, but I must say, I don't think it is the best picture of Keira that I have seen. Her hair is....rather odd....especially when you have all of the best stylists at your fingertips! She still looks great, but if I was her and gracing the cover of vogue, I would be hoping to look a bit more special.
What do you think? Does she look good or did Vogue miss the boat on this cover? |

Deciding what shoes to wear out can often be a confusing process. It might be hot but showers are predicted, so you figure you have to wear something covered in or your feet will get wet. Or you might want to wear something comfortable to get to your destination, then change into something more appropriate when you arrive.
Well, a company called Nat-2 has found a solution! With one zip, you can transform your shoe to a sandal.

All the shoes are interchangeable so you can combine colours, materials and styles.
The German designers K&T say 'By taking one base and various tops you can save weight and gain more space while travelling the world.' Sounds like a great idea! It's a lot easier to fit the thin canvas top in your bag than carrying around another pair of shoes (as I often do!). I will definitely be keeping my eye out for them to see how practical (and attractive) they are in real life.

I have always been a waxer/epiltorer (is that even a word??) Anyway, But since the Birth of Annabel I have only had my underarms and bikini waxed once- for my niece's christening. We just havent been able to afford it, so once a month about I would epilate my legs and about once a fortnight I'd shave my underarms. But today for some reason I was having my post gym/Annabel asleep shower and thought, bugger this, I'm going to shave, can't be bothered getting out the epilator. So I did my underarms first- no problems, and then I started on my legs and I am obviously out of practise because it took me a good 5 mins and I have 4 knicks!!! 3 on my L) leg- top of foot, knee and where your achillies is (did that first) and one on the R) knee. Well, I forgot how much they bleed and despite their small size- how much they hurt!!!
So I have decided that never again!!!! I am going to save every penny and go back to my lovely waxer lady! It used to cost me about $35- for my 1/2 leg, bikini and underarm- I guess she has prob put the price up a bit, but even if it is only every 2 months, I am never shaving again!!!! I will put away every odd coin I get until I have enough to go and see her again!
OUCH! my knicks are stinging!!
Sorry I had to share this with you but I thought about ringing Adam and complaining to him, but I think he would just laugh.

Take a look at these photos for Allure Magazine - doesn't Victoria Beckham look amazing with a more natural look?

I don't know exactly what is different, but I am loving the look. Her make-up is definitely more natural, and less "painted on". And her hair is softer around her face.
Here is what the make-up artist used:
To create Victoria's natural look, makeup artist Scott Andrew brushed metallic beige shadow on her eyelids, lined her eyes with black pencil, applied a creamy rosy blush on the apples of her cheeks, and blended a beige lipstick with a pink lip stain to make her lip color.
And Vicky B's advice on looking great:
"I just make the best out of what I have. I'm not out-of-the-ordinary-looking at all. I'm incredibly ordinary."

Hey everyone, I got the best bargain yesterday, better than those bra and underwear sales they have in a big building for so many days.
I currently use the Berlei New Legends Sports Bra for working out (plus some daily wear) and I originally paid $50 for it at Bras N Things. Well I went to Dimmey's yesterday at lunch (so I wouldn't miss out) after seeing the catalogue and got 2 more of the New Legends Sports Bra in blue and green plus another berlei sports bra all for $50 total :)
The New Legends Bras were down to $15 each and the other one was $19 from $34.99. I probably didn't need the 3 but who cares at that price :) |

A few months ago I decided that I've been a red head for so long (years and years and years), that I would like a nice change and go blonde.
The good thing about being a red head is that the regrowth is not very noticable, and it's a good colour for work (professional).
The good thing about going blonde is that I think I'll look younger (and I'm trying to 'grasp' onto anything that may make me look younger), and blondes look good on stage (good for my Nov show).
I asked the husband what he thought if I went blonde. And he said "well, if you're going to go blonde - go really 'blonde'". Hmmmmm (LOL)
So, last month I bought a 'platnum' blonde semi permanent, popped it in and when I washed it out
.... NOTHING.
I was still red - no change.
So this morning, I tried again. Popped in the platnum blonde semi and left it longer (max time). When I washed it out and dried my hair I thought WOW I'm like a dark blonde..
"NO".
When I got into the light - my hair was as red as red as before.
Ahhhhhhhh
So I've now booked an appointment in at my hairdressers next Saturday to have foils put in - just half a head.
Lets see how that goes. I hope I don't like look a red head with blonde tips. I want to look like a 'blonde'.
Fingers crossed.

As you have probably heard, Pamela Anderson is in Australia as a Big Brother promotion. She has been hanging out in the house, much to the delight of all the housemates, especially the boys! But she has given us some helpful tips about looking great. After all, she has just celebrated her 41st birthday and love her or hate her, you have to admit she looks sensational for her age. Or for any age.

OK, so the first tip about spraying yourself with cooking oil to look slick in a photoshoot has absolutely no relevance for the majority of us, but there is one tip that we can all learn from.
Pamela says when posing for a photo, repeat the vowels and you are sure to get some great shots. So that's your A, E, I, O and U's.
Sadly, this is actually the trick they use when posing for Playboy magazine, but it is helpful never the less!
Try it out next time you are having your photo taken and let us know if it works for you!

It's official - our cleavage is more important to us than a visible panty line!
A poll conducted recently by Debenhams, a British department store, asked 3,000 of their customers about their fashion favourites. The push-up bra came up number 1, with almost 20 per cent of the vote. Other favourites were the boot cut jean (definitely flattering for most body shapes), the strapless bra and trainer socks.
Here is the top 20:
- Push-up bra
- Boot cut jeans
- Pull-in pants
- Stilettos
- LBD (Little black dress)
- Hipster jeans
- Mini skirt
- Strapless bra
- Support tights
- Kitten heels
- Stockings
- Sports bra
- G-string
- Flip flops (thongs for Aussie/NZ's)
- Chicken fillets (the ones that go inside your bra!)
- Pencil skirts
- Hot pants
- Boy-shorts
- Trainer socks
- Comfortable trainers
It's amazing, when you look over this list you realise how much we take for granted. There is no way our grandmothers would have been walking about with comfortable trainers and socks, their hipster jeans and a push-up bra! Trousers weren't even an acceptable option for women in the past.

Caroline Adams of Debenhams sums it up well. "Fashion items that can help create the perfect silhouette have become must-have items for women and there is no shame in faking the body beautiful." If it's available to us, why not feel good about ourselves. So girls, grab your push-up bras and your stilettos, and go get 'em!

London's summer social season is always started in style with the races at Royal Ascot. The women take advantage of the warmer days, bringing out their finery and of course, their latest head wear creations. We thought we would show you of few of the standout pieces.
I am definitely tossing up between "blue loo" and "simply blue...as in cheese" as my favourites for fashions on the field.

The funny thing is, it's obvious that a lot of time and also money has gone in to these creations. I guess five minutes of fame is more important to these women than good taste!

Do you remember The Rachel? The bouncy, layered haircut of the 90's, named after Jennifer Anniston's character Rachel Green in Friends?

Well, there is a new "Rachel" - and it's called the Aggy.
If you haven't heard, Agyness Deyn is the supermodel of the year, the new Kate Moss. And it was during a photo shoot two years ago that the stylist decided her shoulder length hair was too shaggy, and he wanted a sharper look for the shoot. Call in the scissors, and the result was this:

Agyness Deyn certainly hasn't looked back. She is being called the supermodel of the year, the new Kate Moss. And her edgy, peroxided blonde pixie cut is spreading quickly to hairdressing salons all over the world. The key is the longer, full fringe with a really short cut at the back. And of course, white blonde is the only acceptable colour of the Aggy.
I had heard it was popular, but I was completely shocked by how many Aggy's I saw at the shops today. I counted five!! Amazingly enough, they all looked pretty good too! Agyness Deyn seems to be wearing it either with the fringe brushed down on to her face (shown below) or seriously spiky.

So what do you think - do you like it? Would anyone else be game enough to try it? Or should it stay on the runways where anything goes? |
