Nice and warm knitted goodies never go out of fashion! That's great that you have been getting good sales - where do you sell them?
My sales have started to pick up again to over the past week - maybe it has to do with Melbourne returning to its usual cold winter that we haven't really had for the past 5 or so years!
Have fun knitting:)
Time to get the needles out
15 August 2008 - 2:27pm — GailWell, it is time for me to get the knitting needles out again. My friend has good sales and has been selling the beannies and hoods that I make so I will have to replenish them. I have been having a break. I generally knit continuously and then have big breaks. So, I will have to get into it and at least get stocks up for next year.
Hey marieke!
10 August 2008 - 11:37pm — pepispouchGreat to hear from you! Thanks for the info on the WAHM website. I will certainly look into it:)
Wahmtastic
10 August 2008 - 1:30pm — mariekeHey Guys,
It's been a while, I advertise on this site called Wahmtastic, which gets me a fair few hits each month, and it's actually run by the WAHM's that advertise on the site.
So what happens is you have a 125x125 banner on the home page, you can have a review done on your product on it's own page.
What I do in return for that free advertising is donate approximately 1 hr a week to keep the site running, so if I'm smart less than 10mins a day.
If anyones interested send an email to
wahmadvertising@wahmtastic.com.au
I've found it's worth the effort, and not much effort needed at that.
Hope everyones well
Marieke
Thanks Gail!
9 August 2008 - 8:49am — pepispouchI appreciate your contribution to our group and also your attempts to keep all of the groups active. I have missed hearing from many of the members but I guess that they are all busy running their businesses so that can only be a good thing, I guess!
As for my business, I had great sales in the lead up to winter but things have started to slow down which I'm not too worried about as I've got plenty of other things happening around me to keep me occupied!
Every new business takes time to grow but with every sale that occurs, it's a good feeling knowing that you alone are responsible for providing a product or service to someone who wants it badly enough to want to pay for it!
I look forward to seeing what the future holds for my business in the years ahead.
Hope you are all working well:)
Hang in there Nick!
9 August 2008 - 8:41am — pepispouchI was sorry to hear you had to give up your business but don't lose heart. Look at your time working with the cleaning company as an opportunity to start networking with the clients, gaining more knowledge about products and their suppliers and various methods of cleaning (if you don't already know). Who knows? In a couple of years, you'll be able to pick up your business again and go great guns at it!
What's the TAFE course you are doing?
Thanks for your contribution to this group and I'm glad you'll keep in touch with us. Good on you for giving it a go and I hope it all goes well for you!

Well my attempts at a cleaning business have offically crashed and burned. I have given up and will be starting work soon for a cleaning company so at least that way i will get work. will also be doing a tafe course so am happy about that.
Good luck everyone with your businesses, will be poping in every now and again to see how they are going.

Hi Guys
I haven't been blogging in here because I have not had anything to contribute. I do come in and read what is happening though.

Hi Nick
No worries at all about my pram pouches and I certainly do not want you to feel pressured into buying one. The feedback I've had from customers though is that it has helped settle little wrigglers quite well (my son included) and many have told me that their bubs have actually slept soundly in their pram for the first time since using the pouch. As for it being kicked off the pram, if it's strapped into the pram using the pram's five-point safety harness (which is how they are designed to be used), it won't get kicked off and that's what makes it different to just a normal blanket. It also has a rattle attached to the zip which the bubs love to play with and helps to keep them entertained and the utility strap can be used for a rattle or dummy as well so that they don't get tossed overboard. The pouch design is trademarked so you will not find anything else like it anywhere and each pouch is individually handmade by me so the quality is assured. You can also check out the feedback on my website - they are all from legitimate customers. This is in no way an attempt to try and pursuade you to buy one but I hope it helps answer some of your queries anyway.
Good luck with your letter box drop. You can also list your business online with True Local for free which is where a lot of people look for local businesses and services. Do a google on it to see if they have a listing for your area.
All the best
Dee

Today i did up another 100 brochures to do another letterbox drop. I thought about it and realised i could not expect to much from just 40, so i will do the next lot on tuesday and then another 100 the week after and keep going until i get enough business.
