Watched the new show this week, interesting concept. Not sure I'd be game to put myself through that.

I'd love to go to one of his restaurants. He is so keen on using fresh ingredients simply without being too fussy, I think I would really enjoy the food. Another dream for the future.
I Love Love Love Gordon Ramsey
23 May 2008 - 9:15am — eeljerbenI personally love his shows and the phychology he has towards making people do better. Although I don't agree with his swearing at all it has become a trade mark to his shows. People tune in that haven't before to see just how bad his swearing is, it's all about the media attention.....
You have to admit that most restaurant owners love him and by the end of the show they thank him as he has given them another path to follow in their success.
Take the swaering away he is actully doing a great job!!! It is in a 9:30 time slot so any kids that are watching it should really be thinking about bedtime.
I must admit "Hell's Kitchen" is a little too much for me...but all in all I think Gordon (minus the swearing) is a great guy!!!
B :0)
I know, I know...
17 May 2008 - 10:23am — SusieBut that doesn't mean we have to accept it...
If you ever see a woman telling 'whoever' to watch their language...it will probably be me...
It worries my girls, but I just can't stand by and let them think that it is alright...
I always remember an old proverb
" Badness will only thrive if good men ( or women) do nothing".......
The kids would think that flying planes into buildings was OK if someone didn't tell them it wasn't!!!!
Don't give up yet Col....
Cheers.......Sweet talking Susie

Hate to break it to you, the kids already think it's normal - all you need to do is sit next to a bunch of them on a train.
Hi there
16 May 2008 - 11:11am — SusieYes, I agree...I thought I could close my ears to his language...but then I was missing most of the show
The show is good enough that he doesn't need to swear...I worry that we just become to accustomed to things we see and more and more of the 'yuck' makes it way onto the TV and the children begin to think that it is normal and OK....
I tell you what, I do love the Dove Chockie ad where the girls is starting out at a strangers funeral and wedding etc...took me a couple of times to get it...but once I did I laugh my head off....she is very good.
Have a good weekend.

I found it very startling to begin with, but because he swears so much and pretty much all of the time I just started to tune the swearing out. I can't do it totally with him as he is using the swearing to try to shock, get his listener to pay attention.
The shows are great although when they were showing 3 series in a week that did get a bit much. I'd love to try one of his restaurants to see what the food and service is like.
What is so fascinating is how all these struggling restaurants can invite him in and then be so precious about the way they have been doing things and their old menu. If the way they were doing things was working they wouldn't need Gordon Ramsey in the first place.

The swearing is a bit much - but as I have worked in hospitality I just love the show, many a chef uses the same language...though I wish he would tone it done for tv!
