Description

It seems a few people buy the Slimming and Health magazine regularly, I'm also one of them Smiling and I thought that since some people have shown interest in the Couch to 5km program why not make a group and do it together.

Have started doing short bursts of running so hopefully in a few weeks time I will be ready to start this program again. I am looking forward to doing more and more running- its the picture i have in my head when i imagine my ideal body- me running around with ease with Eric in the park, thin and fit!

Hi Lou
I can see how devastating this news is for you. If you are allowed to walk then you could maybe walk a bit longer or more often. It won't be the same as running but will definitely help with the weight loss.

Not good news

I have had neck issues for a number of years as the result of a car accident. Anyways to cut a long story short, I went to a specialist today and have been told no more running! I am not a happy person Sad I was just starting to get my fitness to a good level and now I have to stop! I have been advised to walk 30 minutes a day, which I supppose will help keep up the weight loss. I kinda thought maybe I could be naughty and do it anyway Evil but have read the information they gave me and apparently I'll making things worse! Damn! The next step is an MRI and some additonal xrays, so maybe once these have been done they might let me run again! So I think I maybe absent from this group for a while, but will keep posting. Am devestated!

WELL, ONCE AGAIN i HAVE A HEAD COLD- I THINK IT IS FORM TEH GASTLY COLD WEATHER IN SYDNEY, AND BEING SO EXHAUSTED FROM NOT HAVING ENOUGH SLEEP- THE LAST WEEK HAVE JUST BEEN HECTIC AS AND I LET MY BODY GET TOO RUN DOWN
OPPS- just looked up and realised it was all in capitals- sorry, but cant be bothered changing it. next time I run I will once again be doing 2 x 5 mins and 3 x 3 mins, that seems to be as hard as I can go at the moment. I am jsut so damn sick of being sick- I really want to get out there and run!

Good on you Lou, it sounds like you're zipping along. I haven't followed the program in a while, rather I do 2 - 3 runs for 3 mins minimum each time I jump on the tready. Thats now going to be 3 times at the gym a week, plus once or twice at home and I've got a bike now so will be gradually getting used to that.

Week 5 here I come!!

Did my first day of week 5 yesterday no problems at all, I think I've moved up a fitness level and feel great Eye-wink Will run again tomorrow and am going to add in an extra run this week. I always find when I start to exercise that my weight loss levels out, so I am presuming that I need to increase my exercise. Will give it a try and see how I go Smiling

Did it!

I did week 4 of this program yesterday and got through it no probs at all! Am very happy. Will start week 5 tomorrow! It's interesting that when you think it's really hard and then suddenly it gets easier...I suppose that's what getting fitter is about. I'm a very happy person today Smiling

I am nearly recovered from having the flu and am still a bit breathless when I walk. I am getting a bit anxious as it is getting closer to the end of the year and I need to really get into it (more walking). I cleaned my oven after tea tonight. That was a challenge but I was up and down off my knees.

I just reread my last post and saw so many errors- was trying to type while on the phone. We are leaving my house at 915, not 815, and I really cant rememeber the other mistakes, but sorry, I just clicked post comment without even reading it.

Heya all, i was hoping to do a combination of week 3 and 4 today, like i did last monday, but have been in and out all day, finally got home for the day and hubby being an arss and is not here, and Annabel exhausted and so had ot put her to bed, so no run- so dissapointed, I really wanted to do it today- I was feeling motivated to do really well too adn combine the week 3 and 4 and see how I go. Tomorrow have a massive shopping trip planned to buy me some new jeans that fit (others too big), also need some new knickers and gym pants, and I would like a bice fitted shirt too if there is cheap one, SO dont know how will go time wise, maybe i will ahve to get upa dn drop Bel at day care at 7 and then go to gym- my friend who is shopping with me is getting here at 815 so we can be at DFO when the doors open at 10, so we are home at a decentr hour to do dinner and spend time with Bel etc. Will let you know how I go when I get around to trying it- You are all doing so so well, I am so impressed with how far we have all come!!

xoxo
