vinegar used instead of fabric softner

Adding 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle of your washing machine saves you from buying a separate fabric softener.

Vinegar works naturally to soften your laundry and has the added benefit of breaking down laundry detergent very effectively.

This added benefit means less detergent sensitive allergies for families that struggle with sensitive skin.

Don't be put off by the fragrance of vinegar. The odor disappears when vinegar dries.

I didn't see that one Col but I am going to look it up as it sounds like a good one. Thanks for the heads up on it. Smiling

Did you see the story on A Current Affair last night (19/5)about the mum who developed a range of skin care products from avocado because her daughter's skin was so sensitive?

Thank you Sez, I love some of those ideas especially the nice smell coming out of the cleaner. Smiling

Clean and Fresh..

I have just done an Autumn Blitz at my place and have wiped all the doors and handles and light switches and telephone with a soft cloth with a few drops of Lavender oil. It is a natural antiseptic, antifungal and anti viral so it will help ward off colds and bugs that lurk in these areas. It smells awesome too! I usually give my AC a wipe over as well, it freshens it up a bit too. You may like to use Pine, Eucalyptus or Tea tree or some of each on your cloth. I also have made up a bottle with water and essential oils of Lavender, Rose, Orange and Clove and when I strip the sheets I spray the mattress protector, leave to dry and then vaccuum it before I remkae the bed. Again it just freshens avarything up. You can add some clove oil to a tissue and then vaccuum it up before you start vaccuuming the floors, it helps to kill any bugs that might gtet sucked up and emits a nice fragrance.
Love Sez x

Found a spray bottle of a commercial bathroom cleaner in the cupboard on the weekend and decided to use some this morning. I almost gagged and even after rinsing everything down and leaving the exhaust fan on for an hour, it still reeks.

I've been using natural cleaners for a couple of months now and I was so shocked over the chemical smell that this cleaner left behind. I've now thrown the rest away.
