Pomegranate Juice tops the list of healthiest beverages

If you are wondering what to drink next time you are out, this list of the healthiest beverages might just help you out. It was put together after a study at the University of California, where they ranked beverages according to their levels of antioxidants.

Here is the top 10:

  1. Pomegranate juice
  2. Red wine
  3. Concord grape juice
  4. Blueberry juice
  5. Black cherry juice
  6. Açaí juice
  7. Cranberry juice
  8. Orange juice
  9. Tea
  10. Apple juice

As you can imagine, a lot of these drinks are probably best drunk in moderation. And when possible, eating the whole fruit is the best alternative, as it also contains the fibre and hasn't been through a refining process. But for things like pomegranate, which you don't often find in the shops, juice is definitely a great alternative. Just try to drink it as fresh as possible, and choose options with no added sugar.

The biggest issue I would have with drinking pomegranate juice is that it can be really tart and sour to taste. I think you would have to mix it with something else at least most people would have to blend the taste.

My mother eats pomegranate with salads - strange tastes appeal to her. Eye-wink

So glad to see that good old Red Wine made 2nd place on the list. Eye-wink Laughing out loud

I hope they add sugar to that pomygranit juice. It makes me shake just thinking about the last time i ate one.

Iv taken note of the other juices on that list tho, i usually end up ordering bottled water when i go out, as the fizzy drinks are naughty, and i usually get delegated as driver, so alcohol is out.
