Obviously, as this is a weight loss and health website, a major factor we could be discussing is how to deal with stress in our lives. My issue is in experiencing (or often witnessing) systematic workplace bullying. I am really interested in anyone's experiences of the same as well as how people have dealt/are dealing with it. If enough people are interested we could have it listed as a "group." Anyone?

Hey there friends

It has been a while since I have been online and it doesn't look like I have changed my size.  I have been 121kgs for a while now.  I just recently split up with my husband and I am all off the page, off the show, and not feeling to good.

So I am not exersising, not eating right and I am so tired i am aching all over!!

I need some tips to get back on the page.  Any suggestions??

Franss

It has been a week since I last blogged so will tell you about the last week.

Spent last wednesday packing, then flying to sydney. We arrived late- was 915pm before we left the airport for the half hour drive to my MIL, then a late night to bed after saying a hello.

Thursday, we spent the morning jsut at MIL place catching up etc, MIL and I ducked to teh local shopping centre to buy me another jumper and a long sleeved top (knew it would be cold down there, but not as cold as it was!!) then went to visit hubby's best mate and his family, then went to the hospital where my FIL was once again (he is really not a well man at all, it will be a miracle if he makes it to the end of the year). then got home about 6, had some dinner, before heading back to Carlos (best mate) place until about midnight.

Friday, I was woken early by Annabel, she was sleeping in a cot in our room- I forgot how noisy she is and exactly why she sleeps in her own room!, Anyhow, then once again, we headed to visit Buchia (Adam's grandmother), spent about 3 hours there, having lunch etc. Before heading back to the hospital to drop off FIL shaving stuff etc that he had requested the day before. Got home, sat for half hour before heading to SIL place for dinner with her and the family. Had beautiful dinner of prawns and salad. They also have a 14 month old daughter. We bathed Annabel there and she fell asleep to, so we stayed until 1030, then the half hour drive back to MIL so once again was a late night.

Saturday- Party day: MIL had organised a combined birthday party for Annabel's 1st (a fortnight earlier) and Adam's 30th (in a fortnight), also meant although we did spend 3/4 of trip driving around visiting, it wasnt as bad as if people hadnt been coming to the party.

Spent about 2 hours in morning, pealing potatoes, marinating chicken, baking some cupcakes and cleaning. Then we dropped in to Carlos again to say good bye to Jeanie (wife) and the kids, (She is pregnant and has got complications so is house bound at moment- ment to be bed bound but not obeying!), as they were not coming to party that night, then dropped in hospital yet again to say good bye to FIL, stopped at shops on the way home to pick up the birthday cake that MIL had ordered for Annabel. Got home and had ot get changed etc for the party. People started arriving at 3pm, most people left after the birthday cakes at about 8 or so. MIL and I headed to bed at 11 as only carlos was still there- he was sleeping the night given the alchol he had consumed.

Sunday- given Annabels lack of sleep over the last few days, she actually slept until 730 which was nice, but had woken for bottle during night. So I got a bit of a sleep in. So got up and fed her then had to start packing. As previuosly menitoned- we only took 1 suitcase- for a reason- MIL always trys to send us home with an entire supermarket- so packed what I could. Then had ot head to shops once they opened- was looking foronce of the tradional red and blue stripy bags, but could not find one so ended up with a bad quality- yet expensive for its quality overnight bag, so went home and finshed packing, yelling at Adam to get out of bed and help, while trying to get Bel to have at least a half hour sleep before we had ot head to plane- she never did.Anyhow, so we had left the house by 1050 for the half hour drive to the airport. Then once we got there they tried to tell us that I wouldnt get on the flight- only Adam with Annabel would and I would ahve to try fit on a later flight. So we ended up at the city flyer customer service desk, asking telling very nicely that this was not acceptable. Anyhow, eventully ended up them giving us both boarding passes for the orignial flight, but seperate seats. by this time boarding should have commeced as per our tickets at gate 3 , we were at gate 13, so we the made dash up there and they hadn't even started yet and the woman said it would still be at least another 5 mins. I was then able to spot a TV screen with Hackets race on that was behind their service desk, so pearing between 2 big men I saw the last 4 mins of the 1500m. They then boarded the plane, pretty much as soon as it finished- I still reacon they were just waiting for the race to end- not actualiy cleaning!!. So casue we were on early, Adam waited with me at my seat and I kinda let Annabel play up so that when the woman who was ment to be next to me eventually showed up, and Adam asked if she was happy to switch seats- she looked at Annabel and said, "sure no worries at all!", so that was good- Bel was then pretty good for the rest of the flight!! Anyhow, made it into brissy, drove the half hour home- Bel eventually feel asleep in the car, I then made myslef unpack and tidy for 45 mins before we sat down so at least some was ready for work teh next day!.

And then monday it was back to work on an early so up at 520. Got back to pick up Bel just before 4 and she was alseep, so given the last few days I decided it was best to let her sleep, so I todalled off to the shops ( I should have gone to the gym but was jsut so tired!), anyhow, was jsut about to head back to get her and got a msg from my cousin who works at the centre to say she was still asleep, so I went to kmart and bought a new hair dryer. So went back to pick her up at 5- she had only been awake 10 mins- poor thing was so exhausted. Got home cooked dinner and all three of us were in bed by 830 to start it all over again yesterday.

Adam actually called in sick to work yesterday and today, we both have awful head colds and am feeling totally crap. I think that the awful cold weather and just overdoing it with no sleep for a week totally wrecked us all. Get this- today, Annabel yelled at 545am well, not really yelled- woke up and was tlaking, and I thought- no way, not yet, I want to sleep. So i decided just this once I would give in adn give her a bottle- tehn put her back to bed and within 10 mins she was back asleep and so were Adam and I and I slept until 730 (but lay in bed another half hour) and bel didnt wake up until 818!! what a great sleep in!! I then decided that I really needed to go to the gym so I went to the 930 pump class this morning. Really enjoyed it, but now feeling absolutely nackered!!

Spent today vacuming, re arranging my lounge room and doing washing- still need ot re make the bed- tomorrow am going to try and fit the plastic crates of too small clothes for Bel in the top of my wardrobe so will have to continue de-cluttering like I did the louge today.

Anyhow, I am going to take a cold and flu and make our bed then jump straight in it!

Is nice to be back here with you all

I haven't lost any weight in the past three weeks correlating with being really busy at work. I suspect there's a connection. Exercise has been a bit haphazard and I have not been as vigilant about eating enough serves of fruit and vegies. The great thing about blogging like this, is it actually makes me stop and take note of how to improve starting today. If I wasn't on Betalife, I'd probably just get frustrated instead of reflecting on a real reason I'm on this plateau. Okay - now a request for advice. I have noticed my 8 year old son is putting on weight. (Actually other people have noticed too). I think he is way too young to fuss too much but I need to make sure that at the same time I am modeling right eating and exercise. He is not really aware of it and he is very active. My husband and I both have weight issues and I don't want to pass that particular legacy on. At the same time, I want him to be happy and he is too young to have to be conscious about it. Any advice most welcomed.

I haven't been sleeping well, because of muscle soreness from the game on saturday. Usually it subsides after about 2 days but this is killing me....The past couple of days I have found it really hard to turn over in bed, because my neck and shoulders and so stiff, so I get really sharp pains trying to get up and about, or just to roll. I have had the heat pack on it, constantly....I booked a massage tomorrow, but the remedial person is not in so hopefully they can just get into the spot nice and firm because it is killing me....

The year nines had an exam today. It was a seen essay and this means that they have had access to the question for a week.  The work that has been turned in is pretty appalling....it makes me feel bad because I am the one who taught it.... One kid, said straight away, "What do you do when you have finished?" It had not even been 30 secs since I had said to start the essay. I said to him that " he needed to write something."  He replied "not my fault I didn't learn anything in class."  Momentarily i felt so bad...i thought it must be me....then i asked him "Who is responsible for your own learning?"  Needless to say he did not want to respond that he was responsible and had a week to research.  They were even allowed to bring in four source document quotes. He could have had that and had a go at least, but nothing!!!  I'm feeling very frustrated....

Anyways back to my work.... My lecturer is visiting me on Friday so I want to prepare a good class for her (not that I dont ever plan good classes).

Take Care

My new best friend is the heating pad.   I have aches and pains in places I never knew it was possible to have aches and pains.  :(

For the last few months I have had a really bad dose of whatever is going around this winter and it will just not leave me alone.  I am a person that normally does not get really  ill, and I certainly never go to the doctor on and really regular basis but this year I fell like I have been at the doctors office on at least a weekly visit.

I am told that I have a virus that nothing seems to touch, and believe me I have had a few different medications to try and ease it ... the cough is the worst as it not only leaves me breathless but I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder from coughing so much and then I twisted something in my back from the same thing.  This is were the heat pad comes into play ... without it I would never survive, especially in the middle of the night when I am having a panic attack because I can't breath properly.   I ended up in the hospital on Sunday morning as I had a really bad night and my husband made loud noises at me and I finally gave in and went.

They were really good at the hospital and I ended up having a number of blood tests and 2 chest X-Rays to confirm what it was but they have no answer as to why I keep losing my voice (and yes partly it is that I just can't help myself and keep talking  ;)  ).  I have a referal to an ENT specialist in a few weeks time.   A bit off putting to say the least as I am not a very brave person and I think they will have to knock me out to get a camera down my throat but I know I will gag and there is no way I will be able to swallow it if I am awake.    :O

So for now I sit with the heat pad tucked up close to ease the pain of my shoulder and last night I actually got to SLEEP ... wow you have no idea how wonderful it feels to be able to say that.   I was starting to think I would never sleep normally again and that was an upsetting thought especially in the middle of the night.   You don't even realise just how quiet it is until you are sitting in the dark all by yourself.     I have seen every Olympic highlight there is to see and  I am more up to date on news and current affairs than I have been in a very long time, and sitting there with me has been my sanity friend the heat pack.     A big thumbs up for the person who invented that wonderful thing as it has given me so much relief over the last couple of weeks especially.

You know there is a real downside to all this coughing girls, I cough, and  I wee.      At least I know I am not full of fluid anymore.   *lol*

Well today was a day of surprises for me.  I went for my eye test and new reading glasses as the old ones were over 2 years old and I was starting to strain  my eyes using them.    Boy was I in for a surprise on the cost of them this time round, it seems they have tripled in price since I last had to buy a pair.

I ended up with 2 new pairs of glasses and yes I will admit that I went for the dressy ones' and a very pretty (ME) pair, but I am paying a premium for them that's for sure.

Now I understand that the frames are expensive and apparently I must have picked some of the most expensive ones in the shop as even I got a shock at the total cost  ...  all I can say is thank goodness for private health insurance or  I would be out of pocket almost $1,000  just for the frames.   As for the lenses I just don't understand how come mine were $165 a set and yet my husbands were $95 per set and we have the same prescription for our glasses.   It comes down to the fact that mine are cut to fit the dainty frames and Greg's mens' frames are bigger and less work  ......  what a load of $%&*#  it is just another money grabber for all things feminine.

Okay mini rant over.    At least next time if these frames are as good as I am led to believe I will only have to have the lenses changed if it is needed.  So I guess in the long run it could be worth the money.    :)

Weighed in today, lost 400 grams - one day I will have a big loss, but in the meantime something is better than nothing!  My fitness levels are getting better, am going to add in an extra run this week if time allows.

Things are fairly stressful at the moment, am applying for a job and had the interview today.....I find the whole process stressful and usually put myself through hell!  But have done all I can now so just have to wait and see.  Which my mind would switch off though!
